Handcrafted ice cream sandwiches made in small batches from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients, and sold in and around Lakeland, Florida.

Lakeland’s historic Dixieland neighborhood is known for unique venues and tasty treats, but one you may not be aware of is A Cow Named MOO.  This traveling wonder is bringing the magic that is gourmet ice cream sandwiches to Lakeland.

Prepare Your Taste Buds

You may be thinking, how can an ice cream sandwich be referred to as gourmet?  Well, with flavors such as sweet basil and pine nut, goat cheese mixed with cognac infused figs, and sweet corn with blackberries how could you think any differently?  Those are just a small example of the unique, hand-made ice cream flavors that A Cow Named MOO debuts every couple of weeks.  The same goes for the sugary goodness that holds the ice cream in place.

As a self-proclaimed baker, I know how difficult it can be to get a soft, yet tender bite from a cookie, let alone make it taste good, but A Cow Named MOO has perfected the art of baking as well as churning.  The recipe that started it all was a charming little ginger snap cookie that originated from the grandmother of A Cow Named MOO’s co-creator, Sarah Mulcahy.  There is no better recipe than grandma’s, and this is something that Sarah and her husband Patrick took into account when they embarked on their gourmet ice cream sandwich journey.

Which Flavor Will You Choose?

There is no wrong answer when choosing which sandwich to try, but the French Toast is sure to be amongst top ranks with its buttery caramel and actual chunks of French toast in the ice cream, and don’t forget the cinnamon-sugar goodness that is two snickerdoodle cookies holding it all together!
