Polk’s Nature Discovery Center at Circle B Bar Reserve offers a variety of nature based activities for all ages.

You don't want to miss out on any of the fun family-friendly activities that Circle B Bar Reserve has planned this month. Sign up for a tram tour, a workshop or just get outdoors and enjoy Polk’s water, wildlife, and wilderness. 

Trails are open 5:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., daily. Polk’s Nature Discovery Center will be closed Sunday, April 16, but the trails will remain open from sunrise to sunset.  Easter egg hunts are not allowed on the property.

Lake Region Audubon Hike

DIRT DAY - The Four Seasons of Family FUN

Come on out and join us for Dirt Day - the Four Seasons of Family FUN series.  We will be Learn about bees and other pollinating animals.  Come and enjoy learning about why bees are so important to our survival. This is a FREE event for children ages 5-12.

Invasive Plant Removal

Come and make a difference by removing the invasive species Caesar weed. Bring your favorite pair of gloves, some water and plan to spend a couple of hours or as long as you can last – removing the Caesar weed. The work that has been done already is changing the landscape at the Reserve and staff needs a couple more hands to keep pushing forward.

Legislative & Regulatory Update (State and Federal)

  • Thursday, April 13 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

Presented by Frank Jackalone, Senior Organizing Manager, Sierra Florida Chapter Director. Presentation Brought to Circle B by Sierra Club

Concerned about environmental regulations, climate science, and fossil fuels?  Frank Jackalone will explain what is happening in Florida and what we can do to make progress by working with our cities, counties, and clean energy businesses to protect our air, water, land, and endangered species.  He will also provide an update on Sierra Club's priority environmental bills before the Florida Legislature.

Program starts at 7:00 p.m. and the covered dish dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. (if you wish to participate, please bring a dish to share, and bring your own drink and utensils).  Bring a flashlight for the parking lot.

Sierra Club Planting

Contribute to Polk County’s jewel of Nature Education, the Nature Discovery Center. During this outing, the group will be beautifying the grounds by planting different native plants.  Learn about native plants and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
