FLORIDA'S  GOPHER  TORTOISES: A Keystone Species

Presentation brought to us by Sierra Club

Gopher Tortoises are long-lived reptiles that occupy upland habitats throughout Florida.  They dig deep burrows for shelter and share their burrows with over 350 other species.  In Florida they are listed as Threatened and therefore they, and their burrows, are protected by law.

Eric's presentation will be enhanced by the presence of Circle B's educational tortoise.  Eric will also bring us up-to-date on the Preserve's waif gopher tortoise project.

* Program starts at 7:00 - covered dish dinner at 6:30 (if you wish to participate, please bring a dish to share, and bring your own drink and utensils).  Bring a flashlight for the parking lot.
