Wednesday and Saturday events, for both adults and children visiting Central Florida, hosted by Florida's Natural Grove House Visitor Center in Lake Wales.

Fun, Citrus-Themed Events, Workshops, Guest Speakers, Tastings and More

Every Wednesday and Friday the Grove House Visitor Center hosts events for everyone in your travel party. The Visitor Center in Lake Wales is less than five miles from Bok Tower Gardens and nine miles from LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The Wednesday classes are geared towards adults while the Saturday classes are kid-friendly. Scroll down for event topics. Wednesday classes are listed first.

If you'd like to attend a Wednesday event at the Grove House Visitor Center, you'll need to RSVP by sending an email to GroveHouse@citrusworld.com or by calling 863-679-4110.  Class sizes are limited to the first 20 people for each event. Staff purchases supplies for each person in the class, and hold a seat especially for you, so be thoughtful and let them know if you have to cancel your reservation.

Saturday events are self-guided, so you don't need to RSVP. Saturday's are great for kids.

Wednesday's in October

October 5: A Taste of the Grove House - Enjoy gourmet samples of Grove Store specialty items. Try new products, sample tasty treats, and discover inspiration for your next get-together.

October 12: Agriculture Day - Special expert guest will discuss local agriculture.  Come with your questions!

October 19: DIY Centerpieces - Add elegance to any table with beautiful centerpieces made from fresh greenery, festive colored sprigs, and dried citrus slices arranged in a terracotta pot with a coordinating ribbon.

October 26: Glass Painting Workshop - Personalize a glass with brightly colored glass paints and a little instruction.  Let dry and bake in a conventional oven at 275° for 40 minutes.

October 15: Photos with Dave - Pose for a photo with our Farmer Dave cardboard cutout.

October 22: Turkey Thumb Print Art - Make a turkey with your thumb to remind you to be thankful during the holiday season.

October 29: Fall Face Painting - Ready for the harvest celebrations?  Get your face painted by local artist.

November 2: Polymer Clay Workshop - Sculpt polymer clay into cute citrus themed beads great for jewelry, decorations, and more.  Take home and bake at 325° for 15 minutes for every quarter inch.

November 9: Plant & Veggie Porch Sale - Purchase local plants grown by students of the prestigious Roosevelt Academy’s Agricultural Program on the front porch of the Grove House.  Learn how to plant and care for your seedling by experts in this field.  

November 16: Water Color Cards Painting Class - Paint a citrus scene with watercolors and make it into a lovely card.  Follow along with an instructor.  No experience needed.  Go at your own pace.

November 23: Turkey Thumb Print Art - Make a turkey with your thumb to remind you to be thankful during the holiday season. 

November 30: DIY Seasonal Wreath - Learn how to take familiar craft items and transform them to create a festive seasonal wreath.

November 5: Holiday Mail for Heroes - Write an encouraging card, filled with love and hope, to a solider overseas.  We partner with the American Red Cross who makes sure the letters get out in time for the holidays. 

November 12: Plant & Veggie Porch Sale - Purchase local plants grown by students of the prestigious Roosevelt Academy’s Agricultural Program on the front porch of the Grove House.  Learn how to plant and care for your seedling by experts in this field. 

November 19: Miss Florida Citrus - Meet the beautiful representative of the Citrus Industry.  Questions and photos welcome.
