Florida’s temperate fall weather is ideal for exploring outdoor festivals and attending fall themed festivities and Halloween events, so we compiled a list of our favorites for you to check out. Enjoy!

Oktoberfest (Beer, Brats & Live Music)
5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
You know it as the world's largest fair held annually in Munich, Germany, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun. Oktoberfest is celebrated annually in Winter Haven’s beautiful Central Park with beer, brats (or BBQ) and live music.
After Oktoberfest, stop by Grove Roots Brewing Company (south of Central Park on 3rd Street) for a Prost.
October 14 - 15
It’s one of the “must do” collector car shows in the southeastern United States. More than 35,000 spectators will flock to Lakeland, Florida’s quaint downtown and Lake Mirror Promenade to view a display of more than 600 show vehicles. The Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival kicks off on Friday with a free outdoor concert and party held at the Lake Mirror Amphitheater.
Check it out, then wet your whistle at downtown Lakeland’s first craft beer brewery, Lakeland Brewing Company.

Join the thousands who flock to Polk State College’s campus annually for FallFest to enjoy a craft show, Kids Zone, music, police and EMS demonstrations, the Pumpkin Patch, food, the Haunted House and more.
P.S. We’ve heard some Northerners schedule visits to central Florida this time of year just so they can take in Fallfest!
2:00 p.m. - Midnight
This event gets bigger and bigger every year. The dead will roam again at SUN 'n FUN Expo Campus in Lakeland during the 5th Annual Lakeland Zombiefest.
Terminal V will include local bands and entertainers along with how-to & discussion panels. There will be scheduled costume contests and cosplayers, plus an eclectic variety of vendors serving food and selling their merchandise.
ROOTSTOCK Plant & Garden Festival (Boktoberfest Revamped)
October 15 - 16
Any Boktoberfest fans out there? Bok Tower Gardens is enhancing their signature fall plant sale with the debut of Rootstock Plant & Garden Festival! FREE admission.
ROOTSTOCK Plant & Garden Festival is a two-day event at Bok Tower Gardens, a top vacation spot in Florida. The festival will feature dozens of plant vendors, amazing musicians, healthy cuisine and a spectacular display of seasonal foliage. Florida Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions and food demonstrations will be held in the Outdoor Kitchen.
DON’T MISS THIS: Pinewood Estate will be decked out in autumn finery and offer self-guided tours.
Saturdays and Sundays throughout October
1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Pumpkin Safaris include a 45-minute customized vehicle safari led by one of their knowledgeable tour guides. There is also a guided walking tour of their small mammal house, free-flight aviary and petting zoo barn, which gives you a chance to get up close and personal with some of their smaller animal residents.
October 15, 22-23, and 29-30
LEGOLAND® Florida Resort is always awesome, but even more so during Brick-or-Treat. This spooky, kooky event features trick-or-treating along the Brick-or-Treat Trail, LEGO build activities, the largest LEGO jack-o-lantern in the world, a haunted scavenger hunt in Miniland U.S.A., Halloween-themed entertainment and an all-kids costume contest with “bricktastic” prizes!
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Enjoy a family day of activities while exploring the many plants and flowers that will be for sale from more than 50 vendors. Garden presentations are scheduled throughout the day and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer all your questions. Soil testing can be done for $3.00.
5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
A fun and safe alternative to traditional “trick or treating” for children and families that includes hayrides, carnival games, trick or treat village, costume contest, pie eating contest and more.
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Start your trick or treating at Central Florida’s Visitor Information Center! This free family-friendly event will include a pumpkin carving contest, games, face painting, candy, prizes, and bounce houses. Costumes are welcome, and food and gifts will be available for purchase from local vendors.
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Members of the original Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team continue to WOW central Florida audiences, and work to pass on their water skiing skills to the next generation. The Team will a Halloween themed children's costume contest and water ski show at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Winter Haven.
October 29 - 30
Daily festival hours can be found at Pioneer Days Festival.
The 39th Annual Lake Wales Pioneer Days will be held on the shores of beautiful Lake Wailes and will feature an antique car parade, architectural carriage tours, crafters, demonstrators, re-enactors, and the naming of this year’s Pioneer of the Year.
8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The 39-Mile Scenic Highway Yard Sale is held each November, and provides sellers and buyers alike a special opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Ridge Scenic Highway Scenic corridor while scoring awesome treasures.

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Enjoy a few pints and help some paws during Pints for Paws Lakeland Beer Fest. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Society of Polk County. Attendees will enjoy sampling from over 90 different brands of beer, a souvenir pilsner sample glass, and soft pretzel. The event will also feature a mini food truck rally and live entertainment. Leashed pets are welcome.
8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
The annual festival features breakfast and lunch, a Pioneer Life exhibit, rummage sale, live entertainment, games, and drawings. Watch members of the Historical Society bottle cane syrup. Don’t miss this opportunity to have some good ole fashion fun (and get a little Christmas shopping done).
November 9 - 12
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The 21st Annual Florida Flywheelers' Fall Fuel Up will feature antique tractors and cars, hit and miss engines, food, a flea market, parades, and the antique village. The Fall Fuel Up is a great event for the entire family.
November 10 - 13
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Fall Florida AutoFest features a swap meet (automotive themed flea market), car corral (classic cars for sale), collector car show, and an auto auction. The auction, presented by Carlisle Auctions, sees 300+ classics, past, present and future, cross the block and each is available to the highest bidder.
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Nearly 100 vendors will be offering home and holiday décor, handcrafted jewelry, jams and jellies, sand art, and more. The Honey Bee Festival & Craft Fair will also feature honey treats, honey for cooking, honey wine tastings, supplies for starting a beehive, a spelling bee contest for children ages 10-13.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Haven Holiday Market will feature more than 100 unique vendors with art, crafts, vintage decor, lots of jewelry, fair trade and homemade goods, raw local honey, shabby chic decor, book signing, kids area, food trucks, and live music.
