Bese Saka Festival at Polk State College

Dr. Roland Marvin Carter will be the guest conductor for the Bese Saka Festival, a celebration at Polk State College in recognition of Black History Month.  Dr. Carter is affectionately dubbed as the Dean of Choirs and Dean of African American Music. 

Event Schedule

  • Choral workshop: 9:00 a.m. (PSC Chorus Room)
  • Concert: 2:00 p.m. (PSC Winter Haven Fine Arts Theatre)

The Sankofa Chorale of the Dr. J. Owens Academy is the host choir. The featured choruses include the Adrian Dunn Singers of Chicago, Illinois and the Florida A&M University Concert Chorale, Dr. Mark Butler, Director.
