Ghouls' Day Out

The City of Winter Haven is excited to bring you our 2017 Ghouls’ Day Out Event. It will take place at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, along the southern shores of Lake Silver on Saturday, October 28 from 10 am to 1 pm. This FREE event will include a kid’s game area, music, a Halloween costume contest, food vendors and a trick or treat village. It will be a scary ghoul time.
During Ghouls’ Day Out, there will be a variety of food trucks around MLK park so bring your appetite and enjoy the spooktacular festivities. Be sure to bring cash.
Halloween Costume Contest
During Ghouls’ Day Out there will be a Halloween costume contest for kids, infants to 12 years old. Be sure to impress our panel of celebrity judges with your creative costume. There will be prizes to the winner of each category. Signups will take place on the day of at the Ski deck, be sure to sign up quick as only 25 people will be allowed per category. Contest will start at 11:30 prompt.
Kids Game Area
This area is defiantly not for the dead. Be sure to stop by and play a few games from spider toss to pumpkin tic tac toe these games will be anything but scary. Candy included.
Trick or Treat
Trick or Treat yo’ self through our Trick or Treat village where local business and community members will be passing out candy. Be sure to BYOB, Bring your own bucket.
Coolers and Tents
The event is free to the public. Maps will be available, for use, at the direction signs. Those attending can bring their own food and drinks, no glass bottles please. This is a family friendly event so please keep that in mind. Also, no pop-up tents or large beach umbrellas are allowed.
Snapchat and Event Hashtag
There will be a Snapchat geofilter for the event so all those attending are encouraged to use the filter and share their experiences through social media using #winterhavenGDO2017. You could even win a prize. We also encourage everyone to utilize our photo op areas around the park.
