The City of Lakeland’s Parks & Recreation Department and R.F. Orchids will host Plantae Orchideum in Hollis Garden. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of orchids. R.F. Orchids is one of the great orchid nurseries--not only in Florida, but around the world. Robert Fuchs renovated and reopened his grandfather's nursery in 1970. In 1984, their plants began winning World Orchid Conference medals and one of their vandas (Vanda Deva 'Robert') was honored as the Grand Champion of the 11th World Orchid Conference (WOC 22). R.F. Orchids has won more than 1100 American Orchid Society awards since 1985. The nursery specializes in vandaceous orchids but also grows many dendrobiums and other species as well.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Hollis Garden.
