Explorations V Children’s Museum offers three floors of colorful, interactive entertainment, and opportunities for parents and children to connect through learning.

Exploring the Five Senses

Your family's Central Florida vacation must include a visit to Downtown Lakeland's Explorations V Children’s Museum. Exhibits are geared toward children who have begun walking, all the way up to age 12.

Wondering what that Roman numeral “V” represents in the museum’s name? It symbolizes the five senses, which this fun-filled museum appeals to with hands-on art and science exhibits, and programs.

Air Conditioned Fun for all Ages

Let’s face it, inclement weather doesn’t always observe our Central Florida vacation days. When high temperatures or sporadic summer showers interfere with your outdoor plans, you can always have an equally adventurous experience in the air-conditioned, highly interactive walls of Explorations V Children’s Museum.

Exhibits are Just for Kids

News Anchor – Here’s your child’s chance to broadcast the news at a news desk, or create a wild and wacky weather forecast in front of the weather map – all while on camera.

World Traveler – Your little adventurer can hop behind the wheel of a sheriff’s patrol car, pilot an airplane, soar in a hot air balloon, explore the high seas in a boat, or even navigate the galaxy in a space shuttle.

Performer – Kids with a natural attraction to the limelight can show off their acting, singing, dancing or puppeteering chops on stage as the crowd goes wild.

Cashier or Stock Person – The Publix Explore Store looks like your favorite supermarket and lets your little ones pretend to fulfill an imaginary grocery list, act as a sales clerk, or a stockperson as they restock shelves for the next group of mini-shoppers.

Scientist – Your child’s world will get a little bigger when they view things a little smaller under the powerful lens of Explorations V’s giant microscope, “Mega Mic.”

Biologist –At the Marvelous Me! Exhibit, children can explore the mysteries of the human body as they test strength against a mechanical arm wrestler, visit with an interactive skeleton, measure their memory and more.

Engineer – In the Maker Space, your curious youngsters get to build, tinker and create with different materials each week.

Temporary Exhibits

Explorations V also features temporary exhibits to keep things fresh, and daily programs to connect children and parents through learning.
