LEGOLAND® Florida Resort
For the kids (and kids at heart) in your travel party, no Central Florida vacation is complete without a stop at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort in Winter Haven.
Once home to Florida's first theme park, Cypress Gardens, the 150-acre interactive LEGOLAND® theme park still features the original botanical gardens and more than 50 rides, shows and attractions, restaurants, shops, LEGOLAND® Florida Water Park and LEGOLAND® Florida Hotel.
How do we Love LEGOLAND® Florida Resort? Let us Count the Ways.
1.) LEGOLAND® Theme Park
At 150-acres, LEGOLAND® Florida is the largest interactive LEGOLAND® Park in the world. It features more than 50 rides, shows and attractions, restaurants, shopping, a breathtaking botanical garden and the LEGOLAND® Water Park, which are all geared to families with children ages 2 to 12. There are 11 easy-to-navigate and highly-themed zones, which include pink-knuckle roller coasters, the Imagination Zone, Miniland USA and LEGO® City where youngsters can learn how to drive by freely navigating their own boats and LEGO® cars.
2.) LEGOLAND® Water Park (Finally, a Water Park IN a Theme Park)
It’s Florida and sometimes you just need to beat the heat. That’s why it’s awesome that LEGOLAND® Florida is home to its very own water park. Your kids will "ooh" and "ahh" over the water-themed LEGO® models created from more than four million LEGO® bricks! Water features include a 500,000 gallon wave pool, the "Build-A-Raft" lazy river, tube slides, body slides and DUPLO® Safari, a water-play structure just for toddlers.
We have a lot more information about the water park, including more photos, in our LEGOLAND® Water Park blog post.
Remember: LEGOLAND® Florida and LEGOLAND® Water Park have seasonal closures, so be sure to check both parks’ schedules online when planning your Central Florida vacation.
3.) LEGOLAND® Hotel – A Hotel “Built for Kids”
Just when we thought the LEGOLAND® resort couldn’t get any better, they go and build a hotel that is just as much of an experience as the theme park! The five story hotel, located just “130 kid steps” from the main entrance of the park, features 152 brightly colored and highly themed rooms and suites with LEGO® décor and interactive play areas. The hotel features more than 2,000 models, a disco elevator and kid-friendly depth pool that overlooks lake Eloise.
Hotel guest amenities include early admission to the park, a full buffet breakfast in the Bricks Family Restaurant, exclusive Master Model Builder sessions, nightly entertainment, nightly LEGO® building competitions and access to their heated pool and the boardwalk along Lake Eloise.
We have more information about the LEGOLAND® Hotel in our Top 10 Accommodations section.
4.) Cypress Gardens
Formerly known as "Florida's First Theme Park," the world-renowned botanical gardens of Cypress Gardens are now located inside the gates of LEGOLAND® Florida. Developers took great care to preserve the integrity of Cypress Gardens, keeping the great Banyan tree that was planted there in 1939, and even going so far as to retain the garden's main attraction: daily water ski shows, which now feature swashbuckling LEGO® pirates. Admission to the historical gardens is included with LEGOLAND® admission – yay!

5.) LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland – The Force is Strong in this Land
Use the force and confront the dark side by posing for selfies with a life-sized Darth Vader at LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland. Crafted from 1.5 million LEGO® bricks, the latest addition joins other famous "mini" Florida landmarks, from Mallory Square in Key West, Bok Tower in Lake Wales and Kennedy Space Center.
6.) DUPLO® Valley – Totally Toddler Friendly
The park's latest expansion was built just for the little ones in your family. Ideal for toddlers aged 2-5, the interactive DUPLO® Valley features a herd of cows, goats, chickens, and sheep amid farm-themed attractions that include a mini tractor ride, water play area, and air-conditioned indoor play area.
7.) The World of Chima presented by the Cartoon Network
Those who dare to visit The World of Chima can board boats armed with water cannons to do battle with rival boats – and spectators on shore – on The Quest for CHI water ride, a highly interactive, sure-to-soak your friends and family experience.
*Separate from LEGOLAND® Water Park, the Quest for CHI is a refreshing break from the heat when the water park is not open.
8.) Apple Fries – Sugary, Cinnamony Goodness
They are delicious and only available within the gates of the theme park.
Insider Tip: They are too good to share, so don’t torture yourself by only ordering just one.
9.) Heartlake City – Horsing around with LEGO Friends
The new land, based on the popular LEGO® Friends toy line, is most popular with female LEGO® fans and features a disc coaster ride themed to LEGO® Friends Mia’s love of horses called Mia’s Riding Adventure. Heartlake City also includes a new interactive show called “Friends to the Rescue,” LEGO® Friends Stephanie’s News Room, and shops inside the Heartlake Mall.
10.) Winter Haven – A Cool Place Close to other Cool Places
Winter Haven is home to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort and more. From flyboarding, padding boarding, and lakeside dining on the Chain of Lakes to its award winning community theatre, Winter Haven is the perfect vacation destination for everyone in your travel party.
