Circle B Bar Reserve

Recognized by USA Today Travel as one of the 51 Great Places to See Wildlife, Circle B Bar Reserve is one of Central Florida's best places to enjoy our great weather while birding, hiking or searching for alligators.

Circle B Bar Reserve has not always been a protected area. Cowboys once roamed this land when it was a functioning cattle ranch. Now days, Circle B Bar Reserve is home to rare nature and many species of wildlife that we are lucky enough to appreciate and experience at our leisure. Observe hardwood swamp, freshwater marsh, lakeshore, and much more on these incredible 1,267 acres of terrain.

Few of Our Favorite Things

If biking, hiking, birding or picnicking strike your fancy, you’ve come to the right place. This reserve offers something for every member of your group. And for the Instagram lovers reading this, don’t forget to bring your cameras! You will be eager to photograph the beautiful scenery and living things you encounter. Wildlife you can expect to happen upon include wading birds, bald eagles, ducks, land birds, ospreys, boars and tons of butterflies!

Another way to enjoy the beautiful reserve is to sign up for a tram tour. Circle B Bar Reserve staff and volunteers offer free guided tram tours a few times each month. You can experience the local ecosystems on wheels rather than foot.

Not Your Average Park

One of the greatest features of this reserve is the Polk Nature Discovery Center. This educational building is the perfect place to start your adventure before trekking into the woods and an even more perfect spot to regroup and use the restrooms in the air-conditioning post-hike. Here, you are filled with information on Central Florida’s ecosystem with interactive exhibits that are sure to stimulate young minds (and adult minds, too!)

Trail maps and information are available from the knowledgeable volunteers that greet you at the front desk of the Discovery Center. These volunteers are excited to help and love to answer any questions you may have to ensure a special experience at the Circle B Bar Reserve.
