You don’t have to travel all the way to the beach to enjoy a waterfront dining experience – Harborside Restaurant on the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes is just what you need!
By Land or By Lake
This lakeside eatery is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Shipp in Winter Haven and has been a local favorite for over 20 years. They have a spacious dock area which gives customers the opportunity to arrive via car, bike, boat, Jet Ski or sea plane. Regardless of your transportation, you will definitely feel the ambiance of sun and sails as soon as you enter through the doors.
Sticking with their nautical, rustic theme, on one side of the restaurant they have a horseshoe-shaped bar and at the other end is a copper-plated raw bar. If the rustic tiles, brushed copper and gray walls inside the restaurant doesn’t put you in the mood for seafood, the outdoor patio surely will. Sit outside on the deck and enjoy the iconic Florida sunshine and the breathtaking views of Winter Haven’s Chain of Lakes.
Harborside’s starters will have you hooked before you get the chance to view the entrees. With options like lobster tail and fried gator bites, Bang Bang Shrimp, and seared ahi tuna you won’t second guess whether you really need an appetizer or not. Check out their raw oyster bar – you have the options of eating them raw, steamed, or grilled.
For the main course, we recommend trying “The” Harborside Fish Sandwich. The white fish filet itself is as big as the plate it’s served on! They also have Atlantic salmon, gulf grouper and mahi mahi, all cut in house daily. Crazy about crustaceans? Harborside’s snow crab legs are served dusted with Old Bay seasoning and drawn butter for your dipping pleasure. For the non-seafood lovers, their steak, baby back ribs or pasta won’t disappoint.
Every Day is Happy Hour
If you fancy yourself a drink, pull up a seat at their fully stocked bar. Harborside serves an assortment of drinks including draft beer and margaritas, as well as many house wines and wells. Make sure you make it in time for happy hour, which is every day between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The specials can’t be beat – draft beer is a mere $1.99 a pint.
