Hooked on Harry’s

Try it twice, and you’ll surely enjoy a meal just as tasty as your first. Atmosphere: It’s the Small Things
Knowledgeable and friendly staff makes you feel like family from the moment you walk through the door. Daily specials aren’t sitting on an easel by the front door or only available upon recital by your server, they’re written on chalkboard-covered walls. If you want to order like a local, you’ll pay attention to the writing on the walls.
“Whether it’s Monkfish from Maine, Steelhead from the Olympic Peninsula or Baked Apalachicola oysters, clams or mussels, we change our menu every day to provide our guests with what’s fresh, what’s in season and well…what just tastes really good.”
Little touches like sweet tea served in a Mason jar and homemade bread remind you that this casual restaurant remains true to its old southern charm.
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at Harry’s Old Place, but there are a few items that are near and dear to a many of Polk County natives. Favorite include sweet and spicy shrimp, grilled Blue Marlin, Harry’s In a Bag (pecan-crusted Grouper), baked oysters, fried Grouper, blackened Red Fish and fried gator bites cooked to perfection. Oh, and anything written on the wall.
Harry’s knows seafood isn’t for everyone. Even if you are not crazy about seafood, Harry’s still aims to please with their filet mignon, garlic rib eye, New York strip steak or grilled chicken served plain, Cajun or barbecue style along with other sandwich and burger options. Eureka!
