The 11th Annual Festival of Wreaths at Polk County History Center is going virtual! Opening night will be hosted on YouTube at 5:00 pm and feature Santa, music and additional entertainment.
Herald the arrival of the holiday season at the History Center with the 11th Annual Festival of Wreaths and Silent Auction. All Silent Auction proceeds benefit the History Center. The wreaths will be on display from Nov. 12 until Dec. 16, when high bidders begin picking up the wreaths to decorate their homes across the county.
The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday.
Festival of Wreaths Opening Night
Opening night will still look a little different this year due to COVID-19 protocols. This year, the event will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube and features a tour of the available wreaths, a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by Santa himself, music and ideas for celebrating the season at heritage sites countywide.
- The Silent Auction begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 12. Visit the following website at that time- https://www.polk-county.net/history-center (click on the wreath photo) to follow the bidding activity through December 16 at 5 p.m.
- A virtual opening night will premiere on Polk County’s Facebook page live on Friday, November 12 at 6 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/polkcountygovfl and on the YouTube page at 6:15 p.m. https://youtu.be/4J_fjMMsWok
What will not change is the always colorful and unique wreaths that fill the halls of the History Center and the opportunity to purchase them through the online silent auction. Proceeds benefit History Center programming.
