Holiday Fly-In Festival and Car Show – a Mini SUN ‘n FUN
This Lakeland event includes aircraft displays, a large airplane and car show, plus food vendors, live music, and many other activities. It will be great for the whole family, and it’s pet-friendly. During this event, aircraft parking is free, but SUN ‘n FUN will gladly accept donations.

Short Takeoff and Landing Competition
Headlining the event will be a Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) competition, put on by National STOL. What is a STOL competition, you ask? Pilots will compete to see who can take off and land in the shortest distance. This type of flying dates all the way back to WWI, but it is most associated with back country flying in mountainous regions. You can expect to see over 100 participants, and they will all be vying for a cash prize.
Car & Airplane Shows
The car show will have numerous categories including muscle cars, antique, classic, and exotic, thanks to The Lakeland Corvette Club. The airplane show will have similar categories; Warbird, Vintage, Homebuilt, Aerobatic, and LSA.
Santa Claus in Coming to Town
Santa heads to Sun ‘n Fun Expo Campus in a blushing red Waco aircraft, and will arrive just in time to ensure he gets your wish on his Christmas list!
Friday Night Balloon Glow and Aerial Demo
Aerial demonstrations and various fly-bys will occur well into Saturday, but as the sunset begins be sure to save time to see the flying team of Paradigm. Watch Paradigm run into the sky in their powered paragliders!
BMX Trickstars
Come see the jaw-dropping stunts performed by the BMX Trickstars: Rob Nolli, Scott Weaver, and the rest of the stars. Dylan Carter, BMX Trickstars, is newest recruit. He is currently ranked the #1 rider in the state of Florida.
