Save money, guarantee a t-shirt by registering for the Carillon Classic 5K Run and Walk by April 9.
LAKE WALES – Runners and
walkers save $5 and are guaranteed a dri-fit style T-shirt by registering for
the 2017 Carillon Classic 5K Run & Walk by Sunday, April 9. The event will
be on Saturday, April 29 at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales.
The fee for early registration is
$25 through Sunday, April 9 and includes a one-day pass to Bok Tower Gardens on
race day for participants and family members. Runners can register at the
Fitniche website at fitniche.com/events/ or the Athlink website at athlinks.com.
Awards
will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, the top
masters male and female, and the top grand masters male and female. The top
three finishers in various age ranges will also take home awards.
Now in its sixth year, the
Carillon Classic is sponsored by Polk County
Tourism & Sports Marketing for the benefit of Bok Tower Gardens’ Share the
Gift Fund. This fund was launched in 2008 to help people enrich their gardens
experience.
The fee increases to $30 – and the T-shirt cannot be guaranteed – for later registrants or race day walk-ups.
The Carillon Classic 5K Run & Walk was established in 2012 and managed up until this year by the Dick Pope/Polk County Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. The first five Carillon Classics drew a combined total of nearly 2,000 runners and walkers, raising more than $20,000 for charity.
