As the snow fell outside – and the wind whipped the temperature to double-digits below freezing – fresh-squeezed Ridge Island Groves orange juice sweetly kissed the lips of attendees to this year’s Icelandair Mid-Atlantic Tradeshow in Reykjavick, Iceland.
Michael Marzano, president of FM Tours, presents Ridge Island Groves orange juice to Reykjavick City Commissioner Þórdís Lóa Þórhallsdóttir and the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation for Iceland Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir.
Shipping Fresh Juice to Iceland
For the fourth year in a row, Visit Central Florida, Haines City grower Ridge Island Groves and Orlando-based FM Tours, the leader in Nordic travel to Florida, collaborated on the job of getting citrus nectar from Central Florida to Iceland’s largest trade show, in less than a day.
The “farm to table” fresh squeezed Central Florida orange juice was squeezed hours before the trade show by the staff at Ridge Island Groves, who followed strict measures to maintain and protect its quality for international shipping.
Staff then filled bottles of liquid sunshine that were transported to the Orlando International Airport by Visit Central Florida staff and rushed across the Atlantic on Icelandair for delivery to their Reykjavik headquarters within 24 hours.
Visit Central Florida’s participation in annual international travel trade shows, such as Florida Huddle and IPW, has built a strong business relationship between Tourism Industry Sales Specialist Joni Allen and Michael Marzano, president of FM Tours.
