Visit Central Florida and LEGOLAND Take Over the Streets of London

The world famous taxis of London – well, 15 of them – will serve as mobile billboards promoting the spring opening of LEGO MOVIE WORLD in Winter Haven thanks to a partnership between Visit Central Florida (VCF) and LEGOLAND Florida Resort (LLF). In addition to the wrapped message on the outside, every receipt has a Visit Central Florida logo and website on them, and the seatbacks feature a LEGOLAND Florida Resort/Visit Central Florida message. The cabs will be on the streets of London from November to March.

World Travel Market

Getting to see the taxis first hand were Senior Tourism Sales and Marketing Manager Kris Keprios and Joni Allen, Visit Central Florida’s expert on tourism industry sales. Both were in London for the World Travel Market 2018 from November 5-7. Held annually, World Travel Market is the leading global event to meet travel industry professionals and conduct business deals, and is unique so many representatives are all under one roof to meet, network and negotiate deals. In total, more than 51,000 participants from 182 countries and regions attended the event, including 21 Florida destinations.

Local Partners at World Travel Market

Along with Keprios and Allen were representatives from Balmoral Florida Resort, in Haines City, Florida. Together they conducted scheduled appointments with travel professionals from 10 countries, held 15 appointments with international media and also spoke to several walk-ups throughout the three-day travel show.

VISIT FLORIDA Press Conference

Visit Central Florida also participated in the VISIT FLORIDA press conference that featured media outlets and travel writers from around the world. One unplanned, but very beneficial outcome from World Travel Market was the opportunity for meetings and networking with key international media representatives as well as some of the major Premiere League Football (soccer) clubs. Staff was able to meet with several major UK media representatives from publications, including National Geographic Traveler, several newspaper publications and also travel media and social media influencers who were looking for more information about our destination.
