Cultivating a Love of the Musical Arts

With majestical performances provided by the very best musicians, the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra has been bringing sweet melodies to Polk County for almost 60 years. Throughout its history the orchestra has held at its core, its vision to develop a love and appreciation of music. It brings this vision to every program, concert and production it stages. The 2022-2023 Season, the orchestra’s 57th, brings an expansion of programs to include more music and people than ever before.

2022-2023 Season

The 57th Season features symphonies, gallery concerts, a wonderful Christmas event, opera and music from the movies. Performances are held at the Polk Theatre, the Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College, the Polk Museum of Art and the Polk History Center.

Sep 8, 6 PM – Gallery Concert at Polk Museum of Art- Rodin ‘Contemplation and Dreams’
Oct 15, 7 PM – Secret and Symphony No. 4 (Bach, Brahms, Dun)
Nov 10, 6 PM – Gallery Concert at Polk Museum of Art, with Mixed Media artist Lauren Austin
Dec 3, 7 PM & Dec 4, 2 PM – Toast to the Holidays featuring Elizabeth Burton Lyons – at Polk Theatre

Jan 21, 7 PM – Cavelleria Rusticana at Branscomb Auditorium
Feb 9, 6 PM – Gallery Concert at Polk Museum of Art -Edward Hopper and Guy Pene du Bois: ‘Painting the Real’
Mar 4, 7 PM – Currents, with music from Ron Nelson, Bedrich Smetna and Florence Price – at Polk Theatre
Apr 1, 7 PM – Music at the Movies – John Williams – at Polk Theatre
Apr 13, 6 PM – Gallery Concert Series – Remembering Vilna: The Holocaust and the Art of Samuel Bak
