Bok Tower Hosts Concert Under the Stars
Bok Tower in Lake Wales is not only known for its world famous carillon tower, but is also a stunning setting for events and concerts of all styles. The Concert Under the Stars series is a series of concerts hosted by Bok Tower Gardens during March and April, where you can soak up the atmosphere on a warm Florida evening.
Schedule
Friday, March 3rd – Alison Brown
Spend an evening under the stars with Alison Brown. She is acclaimed as one of today’s finest progressive banjo players, but you rarely find her in a conventional bluegrass setting. Instead, she’s known for leading an ensemble that successfully marries a broad array of roots-influenced music: folk, jazz, Celtic and Latin.
Friday, March 24th – The Steep Canyon Rangers
The Steep Canyon Rangers are Asheville, North Carolina’s GRAMMY winners, perennial Billboard chart-toppers, and frequent collaborators of the renowned banjoist (and occasional comedian) Steve Martin.
Friday, April 21st – The SteelDrivers
Direct from Nashville, Grammy Award-winners, The SteelDrivers are one of modern bluegrass biggest musical talents.
Friday, April 28th – The McCoury Brothers
The McCoury brothers- Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo) – were born into the bluegrass tradition. Talk about a source abundant and pure: their father, Del, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Years on the road with Dad in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops, and encouraged the duo to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into 21st century music.
