While Juneteenth will be observed on Sunday, June 19th, Winter Haven is getting the celebration started early! On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, for the City of Winter Haven’s 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration.
The City of Winter Haven’s Juneteenth Celebration
An event when the entire community can experience African American art & culture with live entertainment throughout the evening. Last year’s event included over 10 musical acts, 3 educational presentations, 2 scholarship presentations, over 70 vendors, fantastic food, and tons of fun! This is all made possible through the support of event sponsors Tinsely Family Concession, the GiveWell Foundation, the Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce, Intentional Wealth, Bernie Little Distributors, Citizens Bank & Trust, and AdventHealth. This year they are raising the bar by raising funds through the upcoming Golf Tournament Fundraiser!
This in-person event will be held in honor of Juneteenth, Freedom Day, a day that symbolizes the abolition of slavery in the United States of America. The City of Winter Haven is excited to continue its efforts of uniting and empowering the African American community as they continue to obtain equality, equity, and justice. Make no mistake Juneteenth isn’t just an African American holiday. it’s a significant piece of American history that we are thrilled to celebrate.
